SPECIALISMS IN MENTAL HEALTH
The purpose of the TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in Mental Health (RQF) is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding relevant to working in mental health including duty of care, equality and diversity, different approaches to care and management and understanding change and support in relation to mental health.
Learners may progress to further qualifications or employment within health and social care including an apprenticeship framework within health or health and social care.
The qualification can also be used as part of development within learner’s current job role within health and social care.
The purpose of the TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health Care (RQF) is to meet the needs of individuals who support people with mental health problems but who are not mental health professionals.
Learners are likely to be in employment but as it is a knowledge –based qualification this is not essential. The qualification develops learners’ knowledge of the legal, policy and service framework in mental health; the principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings; mental well-being and health promotion, problems and interventions; care and support planning and risk management in mental health.
